3 Cheap Ways To Decorate & Personalize A Furnished Apartment

Just because you are renting a furnished apartment does not mean you cannot add your own personal touch to make the apartment fit your style more. Here are a few tips to help add a little personal touch and style to your furnished apartment without breaking the bank.

#1 Decide Which Colors You Like The Most In The Apartment

Since your apartment is already painted and furnished, the key is to work with what you have. Examine the furniture and decorations in the apartment and pick out the colors they contain that you like the best. Maybe it is that peach accent on the coffee table, or the turquoise throw pillows.

If you are not in love with any of the colors that are in the apartment, pick a couple of colors that you like that would complement the color scheme in the apartment. These are the colors that you stick to when purchasing accessories to make your apartment feel a little more like you.

#2 Purchase A Few Accent Pieces

Go to a local craft fair or the home goods section of a local department store, and pick out a few accent pieces in the colors that you picked out above. You don't need to spend a lot of money; just get a few pieces that you like that you can put around the apartment.

A few good examples of accent pieces are candles, picture frames and throw pillows. These are all small items that will add a little of your flair to the apartment that you can easily take with you when you leave.

#3 Buy Some Cloth For A Little Extra Color

If you want to add a little more color to your furnished apartment, head on over to your local fabric store. Pick out a few fabrics in the colors that you selected above. You'll want to get a couple of yards at least of each fabric.

You can use this fabric to make your own tablecloth for your dining room. If there are any furniture pieces that you don't like, such as an ugly end table, you can drape the cloth over that piece of furniture to hide and transform it. You could also use the fabric as a cover for the couch or chairs in your apartment.

If you are renting a furnished apartment, make it feel a little more like you by picking out a few colors you like in the current decor, and adding accents in those colors to the apartment. This is an inexpensive way to customize your furnished apartment.
