Living in the country away from the busy city is a dream many homeowners are after. If you find yourself ready for life at a different pace, you might think you're ready to start your search for the perfect county estate. Moving to the country can be life-changing in so many ways. Less noise, lights, traffic, and lots of privacy are what draw most folks to consider making the change. Finding the perfect real estate agent who is familiar with the area your considering is a great start. Before you start touring and picturing yourself on that front porch, here are three things to consider during your country search:

Utilities

Living outside of the city can come with some unique property differences. Depending on the infrastructure of the area, you may be on city sewer still or have your own septic system. Learning the difference between the two is a great place to start. If you feel strongly about one or the other, then this is something you can specifically search for during the hunt for your home. Internet is another huge thing that can make or break a property, depending on your lifestyle. If you require internet for working from home or your leisure, your going to want to make sure it's at a certain level to get the job done. Some homes just need some DIY internet upgrades, while others do not have the possibility to achieve the speeds you require. Pay attention to the utilities! 

Animal Rights

If you are looking at a country estate and want to have animals, paying attention to the animal rights that come with the property should be at the top of your list. Cities can be zoned for animals in many different ways. If you move in thinking your allowed to have fifty horses, you're going to want to make sure the neighborhood is zoned to allow it. Having certain animals, a business related to the animals, or a certain number of them can be a headache for new homeowners who aren't familiar with their animal rights. Do your research!

Proximity

If you want a life out in the country, you're going to need to decide how far out you want to go! Buying a place fifty miles from your nearest store might not be so fun if you want to go into town daily. Sit down with your family and talk about your expectations and take inventory of all the things you do weekly and how much time you will spend driving to get there.
